Quote of the Week – February 23

Quote-of-week-02-23

Each week I like to bring your attention to a quote that is either uplifting, thought-provoking, or both.  I think this one is both.

I have written about my desire and efforts to move towards living each day with purpose and intent.  So much of our daily lives now seem to be in the midst of distractions… phones, TVs, computers, social media, etc etc etc.

And so, an article I read this past week entitled “The Joy of Quiet” caught my attention:

“In barely one generation we’ve moved from exulting in the time-saving devices that have so expanded our lives to trying to get away from them — often in order to make more time. The more ways we have to connect, the more many of us seem desperate to unplug.”

And so I share the quote from the 17th Century French philosopher Blaise Pascal: “Distraction is the only thing that consoles us for our miseries, and yet it is itself the greatest of our miseries.”

Are you living an intentional life?
